About DOUBLE BARREL KITCHEN & BAR

Double Barrel Kitchen & Bar

At Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar our aim is to offer a great food experience form when you enter our premises to when you walk out the door.

Our venue located at the beautiful Concourse development at Benowa has a warm inviting feeling with high ceilings adorned with chunky timber beams, greenery and a collective of rattan light shades.

The perimeter has massive bi-fold doors offering an abundance of natural sunlight that open out to a huge wooden deck north to stunning water views. Balmy summer afternoons with a cocktail in hand will be the position of choice here on the deck we think.

There are many more surprises to be found once you enter the restaurant.

We acknowledge our patronage will be comprised primarily of locals and we want to create a friendly welcoming environment for friends and family to catch up. The loner that wants to spend some quality me time and just read the paper, the early morning cyclists, business professionals looking for a meeting place, tradies are welcomed with open arms and a smile. Oh, and did we mention fur babies are just as welcome.

Being a local destination, we feel it’s important to be able to share life’s special milestones with our customers. Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar will be available for those important times in life with function & catering packages available for any special occasion that might be happening in your life.

Thank  you for stopping at Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar and we look forward to seeing you soon.

OUR FOOD

I guess we would consider our menu to be modern Australian although our chef has a talent for pressing the boundaries of many different cultural cuisines.

Our breakfast and lunch menu offer a collaboration of old favourites with a twist, to new and exciting taste experiences that must be tried to be believed. The dinner menu has a delectable selection of classics to plates that will challenge your culinary perceptions.

We source the freshest produce from local suppliers and growers, our chef is given every opportunity to delight the most enthused foodie with dishes that heighten the senses with bursts of flavour.

We eat with our eyes and so our dishes and coffees are visually stimulating and add to the holistic experience at Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar. Our menu changes with every season so keep an eye out for the new additions.

We offer weekly menu specials just to keep things interesting.

OUR COFFEE

Coffee is a very important part of the daily ritual for many of us and at Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar we take our coffee very seriously.

We have teamed up with the award-winning Supreme Coffee Roasters to tantalise the taste buds of the most hard-core coffee snob and to those that appreciate a really good cup of coffee. The love that goes into make both is one in the same.

Our barristers undergo regular training with the Supreme Coffee Roasters to ensure every cup of coffee expressed is delivered to you at its maximum tasting capacity.

We understand the joy that first sip of morning coffee brings.  The DBK blend consists of Costa Rican, Colombian, Sumatran & Ethiopian beans that are merged together to create an unrivalled taste sensation. In milk DBK leaves a sweet milk chocolate note with a depth of caramel and hazelnut.

As a black coffee this blend permeates delicate and sweet notes for an incredibly refined sensation on the palette.

This partnership with Supreme Roasters has seen our little sister in Mermaid Waters win many coffee awards over the past 3 years from best Coffee on the Gold Coast and they have been a regular in the top 10 best coffees.

Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar will be following in their footsteps and continuing with the same beans to bring this award-winning taste to Benowa.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Where economically possible we will and have undertaken a more environmental responsible choice to lessen the impact on the environment.

Our choice of disposable packaging has been done with thought. Our coffee cup paper is sourced responsibly from managed plantations and coated with Ingeo™, an innovative corn-based bioplastic rather than conventional petroleum-based plastic.

All components of the cups are made from rapidly renewable resources and are certified carbon neutral. The wood used for the disposable cutlery is FSC approved. Plastic food bowls are made from Ingeo™, a plant-based plastic.  The carbon footprint of Ingeo™ bioplastic is up to 75% smaller than conventional plastics such as PET.

All emissions associated with the production, distribution and disposal are offset through the purchase of carbon credits. Napkin and paper products all FSC approved where possible.

The chemical sanitation system is designed to deliver controlled dosing to ensure overuse is contained leading to less harmful chemicals entering the local waste system
